Starter Loadout

Choose a primary weapon for the distances you expect to fight at, plus a close-range backup if you need one. Pack matching ammunition, a filled medkit, and undamaged armor. Keep the kit affordable enough to replace after a loss.

At a glance

  • Use a rental kit for map practice. Use a personal kit when the raid has a progression objective worth protecting.
  • Pair a mid-range rifle or carbine with a close-range shotgun or SMG instead of carrying two weapons for the same distance.
  • Buy ammunition, a charged medkit, and intact protection before expensive attachments or a larger backpack.

Starter kits for different goals

Learning run
Rental kitLearn spawns, exits, and objective interactions. Extract any useful gear you find.
Budget run
Reliable primary + basic protectionTake replaceable ammunition, one medkit, intact head and torso protection, and a small pack.
Progression run
Primary weapon, backup, and spare suppliesAdd an emergency weapon, one tactical consumable, and ammunition kept for extraction.

How to pack your starter kit

  1. Pick the primary by expected range and ammunition supply, not rarity color.
  2. Load it and pack matching ammunition. Keep one magazine or a fixed shell count for extraction.
  3. Add a second weapon only if it solves a range the primary cannot handle.
  4. Keep a charged medkit in inventory and bind it to a quick-access slot, then inspect helmet, carrier, and plate durability.
  5. Add a backpack sized for the objective. Keep the total cost low enough that losing the kit will not prevent your next raid.

Common loadout mistakes

Two expensive guns, no range plan.Give each weapon one job. Replace overlap with ammunition, healing, or a cheaper emergency option.

Rare armor with almost no durability.Use intact protection. Inspect the plate itself before judging the carrier.

A huge backpack on a learning run.Use a small pack and extract earlier. Extra capacity encourages optional detours.

The kit takes too long to rebuild.Stage two copies of its ammunition, medicine, and armor before the first deployment.
